Advisory Council
Dr. Mert Sahin
Dr. Mert Sahin is a highly accomplished business executive with an impressive track record of success in the life sciences sector. He brings more than 20 years of experience in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, where he has demonstrated expertise in formulating and executing strategic go-to-market plans resulting in exceptional growth.
Dr. Sahin’s previous roles include executive positions at Durin Life Sciences, where as the CEO he turned around the company from having no products to 2 products ready to be launched in US with $19.5M fund raises along the way; GE Healthcare, where he led marketing as the CMO for its Imaging Business in the U.S. & Canada. He has held various commercial roles at Roche Diagnostics, Eurofins Genomics, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Dalan Animal Health. Dr. Sahin also co-founded Boston BioProcess and raised $3.5M in seed funding while establishing its operations, which helps alternative protein ingredient companies transition from the lab to commercial scale. He holds a PhD in Cell Biology from University of Hamburg, Germany.
Nathan Piland
Nathan Piland is a medical technology executive and strategic advisor with more than two decades of experience leading organizations through complex and high-stakes challenges across the global healthcare landscape. His career includes leadership roles at Medtronic, Becton Dickinson, and the successful development of a consulting practice that has supported more than 25 MedTech companies from early concept through commercialization.
As an advisor to Hospital Intel Suite, Nathan brings deep experience in decision-making, market insight, and organizational alignment. He supports the platform’s mission to empower commercial teams with high-quality healthcare intelligence that enables faster, more precise, and more confident strategic choices. Having guided CEOs, founders, and executive teams through uncertainty, he understands the value of timely and reliable data when exploring markets, planning product strategies, or identifying growth opportunities.
Nathan holds an MBA from Babson College and engineering degrees from Tufts University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is a Design for Six Sigma Master Blackbelt and a U.S. patent holder in transcatheter heart valve technology.
Dr. Tarun Sen
Dr. Tarun K. Sen is retired Professor Emeritus of Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech and formerly served as the Managing Director of the university’s Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics (PGPBA) under the Office of Outreach and International Affairs. In this role, which he held until recently, he led major educational and analytics-focused initiatives across the United States and India, including the co-creation of the M.Tech. in Data Science with NMIMS in Mumbai and the development of multiple data analytics programs in Chennai, Mumbai, and Newport News, VA. Prior to this, Dr. Sen spent 25 years at Virginia Tech as Professor and Associate Dean, overseeing graduate, MBA, and international programs, launching the university’s first executive MBA, and contributing to the Pamplin MBA’s rise to a top-35 national ranking.
A long-standing researcher and educator in analytical modeling and data-driven decision- making, Dr. Sen has published widely in leading journals and has directed major funded projects for government and industry. His work includes the development of analytics systems for the U.S. Department of Energy, the Virginia Department of Social Services, and other organizations. With over 30 publications, dozens of national and international presentations, and extensive doctoral mentorship, he has been deeply influential in shaping analytics education and applied research. A co-founder of Entigence Corporation, a business intelligence consulting firm, Dr. Sen continues to advise on data analytics initiatives. Dr. Tarun Sen advises the Hospital Intel Suite team on data science, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Krishanu Bhattacharjee Chief Executive Officer, Hospital Intel Suite
Krishanu is the Founder & CEO at Hospital Intel Suite. He has spent a decade-and-a-half in the medical technology industry spearheading research and consulting studies. He is passionate about solving the paradox of “innovation in isolation” in emerging markets for medical device users by assisting innovative NPIs. Krishanu possesses keen understanding of medical device markets globally; having led in-depth field research, outcomes and market access research as well as strategy workshops across US, ASEAN, Africa, Middle East, South America and Europe.
Krishanu is a customer-centric business strategist for medical technologies focused on unravelling the deeper need-gaps of hospitals, physicians and end-users. He is an author of several widely appreciated med-tech market reports and forecasts. Prior to Hospital Intel Suite, Krishanu has held key leadership positions in various healthcare research and consulting firms including Frost & Sullivan, Datamonitor and Genpact. Krishanu holds a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering and is a GE Foundation Scholar Leader.
Tanuja KhanolkarChief Operating Officer, Hospital Intel Suite
Tanuja is a founding member and COO at Hospital Intel Suite. Having spent more than a decade in pharmaceutical, hospital and med-tech research, she is adept and passionate about identifying ecosystems that make healthcare more accessible and affordable. As head of Outcomes Research team at Hospital Intel Suite, she has been instrumental in planning, strategizing and executing various HEOR and market access projects across Middle-East, South Asia, ASEAN, Africa, Europe and North America. As Chief of Operations at Hospital Intel Suite, she also leads overall project delivery and execution for multi-country NPI, market sizing, pricing studies and Voice of customer syndicated studies across key emerging markets.
Tanuja is a solution-centric analyst with a curious mind, focused on understanding finer insights/problem statements to arrive at tangible and viable solutions towards improving health access. She has authored multiple articles and case studies that brings various unique health ecosystems in limelight. Tanuja is a pharmacist by education – in her past roles at healthcare communication research agencies such as Publicis, Havas Life, etc. she was involved in unravelling prescription behavior, understanding belief maps, motivations and challenges of Key Opinion Leaders across various specialties. Having spent time conducting clinical immersions at primary, secondary and tertiary care facilities across various emerging markets, Tanuja has gained first-hand knowledge of workflow and finer cultural nuances of various health facilities across the globe.
Rahul MenonChief Product & Commercial Officer, Hospital Intel Suite
As Chief Product & Commercial Officer at Hospital Intel Suite, Rahul leads the global product roadmap, marketing strategy, and commercialization of the platform, guiding its advancement as the world’s most comprehensive hospital intelligence solution. A seasoned medical device executive with experience across North America, Europe, and Asia, he formerly led the Ultrasound business for Philips in North America and served as the global marketing leader for X-Ray and Bone Densitometry at GE Healthcare. An alumnus of GE’s premier Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP), Rahul brings deep expertise in information management, product management, strategic marketing, and business leadership. His cross-industry background—spanning healthcare, technology, heavy industry, oil & gas, banking, and financial services—reflects a consistent track record of market growth, commercial excellence, and building high-performance teams. Rahul holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master’s in Information Technology from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
His experience spans P&L management, branding, key accounts, sales enablement, sales operations (Salesforce, Apttus), and clinical education. Rahul has led major business transformations in sectors such as Ultrasound ($2B), X-Ray and Fluoroscopy ($1B), Bone Health/DXA ($300M), and various initiatives in energy, oil & gas, banking, investment banking, and financial services in North America.
